Education
Caerus’ education portfolio consists of organizations that offer meaningful after-school and summer enrichment activities, with a focus on mentoring through supportive relationships with caring adults. A significant portion of the Foundation’s education portfolio includes improving the college readiness, access, and completion rates of first-generation and low-income students.
After-School and
Summer Enrichment
We strive to foster personal academic growth, mitigate summer learning loss, and provide a safe and supportive environment during out-of-school time. Programs offered include homework support, 1:1 tutoring, literacy, creative writing, recreation, and sports.
College Access and
Persistence
The Foundation aims to remove barriers to obtaining college degrees and to equip students with the skills and tools they need to graduate.
Promise Scholars Program
We provide four-year college scholarships to cohorts of low-income, first-generation students in San Francisco and Chicago. Each Scholar is paired with a coach to help keep them on track for graduation and support their transition into careers.
Mentoring
Caerus supports high quality 1:1 mentoring programs for vulnerable youth, providing guidance in making positive personal and academic decisions. Emphasis is placed on establishing trusted relationships, empowering youth to avoid risky behavior, and helping youth to achieve their full potential.
